GoodParty.org is looking for a Senior Product Designer (Contract) to help shape the user experience across our AI-powered civic tech platform. You’ll deliver high-quality product design work that helps candidates run, elected officials serve, and voters engage with democracy.
In this three-month, fully remote contract role (30-40 hours per week), you’ll work with a fast-moving team to turn complex problems into clear, intuitive experiences.
About GoodParty.org:
A majority of voters, including more than half of Millennials and Gen Z, say that neither major party represents them. GoodParty.org is the solution.
We’re on a mission to make people matter more than money in our democracy by empowering Independent candidates to run, win, and serve.
Since 2024, 13,000+ Independent candidates have won their races across all 50 states using our tools, training, and support. Our AI-powered platform provides free tools to launch and run campaigns, connect with voters, and serve their communities effectively. The only things our elected officials have in common is that they prioritize people over parties and community over corporate interests. We’re not a political party; we’re a platform and a movement to democratize democracy.
Founded by serial entrepreneur Farhad Mohit ($1B+ in exits, including Flipagram/TikTok and Shopzilla), GoodParty.org is building solutions so we can have a truly representative democracy where society’s biggest problems are solved.
What you’ll do:
Deliver end-to-end design for features on our Win product (campaign management tools for Independent candidates), from initial concept through post-launch iteration.
Partner directly with product and engineering counterparts to move quickly from problem definition to production-ready specs.
Maintain and extend our Figma-based design system, establishing clear principles for when to create new patterns versus reusing existing ones.
Set and hold a high craft bar across everything you touch, including typography, interaction design, and information hierarchy, ensuring Win feels like it was designed by a single mind.
Use data and usage metrics to inform design decisions and demonstrate clear impact on activation and retention.
Integrate AI tools (Figma AI, v0, Lovable, or similar) into your workflow to move faster without sacrificing quality.
Who we’re looking for:
You’re up for the audacious challenge of driving money out of politics and democratizing democracy.
You have 5+ years of product design experience shipping complex SaaS or consumer products, with a portfolio that demonstrates strong craft and systems thinking.
You architect design systems that scale; you know when to build new patterns and when to reuse, and you optimize for team velocity without sacrificing flexibility.
You influence product direction through design-driven insights and quantitative data, not just intuition.
You work with minimal process scaffolding; you thrive in a direct, low-ceremony environment and own your work end-to-end.
You drive complex work to completion at startup speed while maintaining quality, and you proactively remove your own blockers.
You integrate AI tools into your design workflow to meaningfully accelerate output.
You communicate design decisions with clarity and confidence to both technical and non-technical collaborators, and you give and receive direct feedback without friction.
You’re able to work independently and also enjoy collaborating with others to iteratively solve problems in real-time. You thrive working at the startup speed that our mission demands.
Bonus if:
You have experience working in small, tight-knit, fast-paced remote teams.
You’ve worked in civic tech, political campaigns, or democracy-focused initiatives and understand the unique challenges of this space.
You’ve studied, worked, or volunteered in politics, civics, or democracy reform.
You’re tired of sitting on the sidelines while democracy fails to meet its potential – and you’re ready to use your passion for design to act.
Why you should work at GoodParty.org:
Join a passionate team with diverse political views focused on one mission. Our values are: People First. Direct, Open, and Honest. Empowered Ownership. Iterate for Impact. Fun Is Fuel.
We’re a Public Benefit Corporation that prioritizes social impact over profit.
Work where and how you like, on a fully remote team spread across the country.
