Established in 2004, the UNOPS Amman Multi-Country Office (MCO) provides strategic and operational support to partners across Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq, Yemen, and the Gulf countries. The MCO delivers solutions that address development, peace, and humanitarian challenges through infrastructure, procurement, project management, and human resources services. Working in close collaboration with national governments, UN agencies, and donors, the office supports efforts to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. Its portfolio includes large-scale operations focused on improving essential services, strengthening national systems, and enhancing resilience in complex and fragile settings.

This position operates within a dynamic project environment, supporting critical infrastructure projects. The role is essential to ensuring the quality and timely installation of mechanical and plumbing services, requiring technical expertise in design review, site supervision, and commissioning. The Mechanical Site Engineer will contribute to the successful delivery of projects within budget and schedule constraints.

The Mechanical Site Engineer provides technical expertise in managing and coordinating designs, site supervision, commissioning, and related documentation works for mechanical and plumbing services. He/she is responsible for ensuring high-quality design documentation and site works are carried out on time and on or under budget.

Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable University with 2 years of appropriate experience in design, supervision or implementation of mechanical works in buildings construction.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable University with 4 years of appropriate experience in design, supervision or implementation of mechanical works in buildings construction.
Technical/Professional License with 3 years of appropriate experience in design, supervision or implementation of mechanical works in buildings construction.
Desired
Project Management Certificates like Prince2 or PMP

Required
At least 5 years of experience in Mechanical and Plumbing systems design, supervision and construction for medium to large-scale construction projects in Jordan and/or the Middle East region.
Comprehensive knowledge in computer software, particularly “AutoCAD” (latest Versions – 2009 and higher).

Work Experience with an international Organization and/or UN Agencies
