Fundación Retina Paraguay is a non-governmental organization established in 2018 in southern Paraguay, dedicated to preventing avoidable blindness through accessible retinal imaging. The foundation aims to reach not only urban areas but also remote locations where medical assistance is scarce, including indigenous tribes. It has developed a telemedicine system for early detection of blindness and is recognized as a national interest by the Paraguayan Congress since 2019. The organization relies on donations and volunteers to achieve its goals and is pioneering in Latin America for its innovative approach to eye health.
