The Employer Partnerships Manager is responsible for building and overseeing FreeWorld’s Employer Partnerships function. In this role, you are a representative of FreeWorld with senior stakeholders across the trucking industry; a program designer who can help us develop approaches to employer sourcing at scale; a results-oriented person who can bring a sales focus to your work; a people manager and coach; and a strategic leader who collaborates closely with FreeWorld’s CEO and COO. our mission and believes everyone deserves a real second chance!

The Employer Partnerships Manager will report to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborate closely with the CEO and other members of the Program Leadership team.

What you’ll do (Job Responsibilities)

You are a leader within the program team. You will be expected to:

  • Build a team of Career Services Specialists to help us execute our mission of placing CDL holders at scale. This will include recruiting, onboarding, and training others - as well as being an effective coach, manager, and mentor to your team members

  • Help FreeWorld develop robust approaches to addressing common challenges faced in our employer engagement - including by using evidence and data to refute common myths

  • Directly engage with senior leaders of trucking companies to secure partnership opportunities for FreeWorld. Manage your own pipeline of opportunities (akin to a sales pipeline) - diligently tracking progress from opportunity identification through to a win or loss
  • Work cross-functionally with others at FreeWorld - including our Government Partnerships team and Engineering teams - to ensure that your work supports our broader efforts and that you draw on the best of your cross-functional partners to fuel your work

  • Collaborate with our CEO when needed - including deploying him to help you close deals or secure commitments when it is helpful to your work

  • Be dependable, adaptable, and resourceful. Always follow through and follow up!

  • 5+ years of experience in criminal justice, reentry, workforce development, trucking, or other related spaces;
  • Knowledge of the justice system and the barriers that individuals with criminal records face in their reentry journey
  • The ability to not just do great work but to create the systems and processes that will allow us to do that work at scale. You need to be a program builder, not just a program contributor.
  • Able to demonstrate impact on reducing barriers for justice-impacted individuals or other marginalized populations
  • A solutions-oriented mindset with the ability to see challenges, barriers, and roadblocks as opportunities
  • Excellent project management skills with a high level of attention to detail and organization.
  • Strong written and oral communication, with developed interpersonal skills and the ability to speak with and understand the needs of business leaders and decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to "pitch" FreeWorld's work - to clearly communicate our story/brand/idea to business partners and vary the pitch depending on the audience.
  • The knowledge, skills, and experience to effectively build and maintain relationships and to serve as the face of FreeWorld with a range of employers across our program geographies
  • Adaptability - You understand that things change, and you can pivot as needed
  • High-speed cable internet or better with a minimum download speed of 100Mbps and a minimum upload speed of 10Mbps

  • Is incredibly passionate about our mission and believes everyone deserves a legitimate second chance

Bonus Points if… (Preferred Qualifications)
