Run the Future is an entrepreneurial learning experience that accelerates youth and young adult learners towards greater success as innovators. We believe that real-world learning builds important skills and mindsets for young people: curiosity, research, goal-setting, learning from failure, building social capital, and problem solving. Run the Future helps bridge the gap between education and the skills demanded for the modern workforce by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, which are vital for both economic growth and individual success.

It's an exciting time to join our small start-up team; we are working on building for scale and ensuring that we can reach more learners. Run the Future is a nonprofit social venture, developed through a partnership between Formation Ventures and Cambiar Education.

We are supporting the next generation of diverse innovators by empowering young people to find solutions to purposeful problems through engaging, rigorous, and hands-on learning experiences. We are seeking a Project Manager to join the product team and play a pivotal role in bringing high-impact, scalable products to life. This is the right role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and is excited to build and refine systems to ensure our project management practices are efficient, scalable, and adaptable.

As a Project Manager, your work will include but not be limited to the following:

Project Management:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, while collaborating with colleagues on different teams
  • Partner with product team to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables and manage project documentation such as roadmaps and status reports
  • Craft clear project plans and track progress to ensure projects stay on track and within budgetary and other constraints
  • Proactively anticipate potential project roadblocks, identify and analyze risks early, and propose solutions before issues escalate
  • Facilitate clear communication across all project stakeholders, keeping everyone informed of progress, action items, roadblocks, and decisions
  • Implement systems to support building the next generation of youth products in an efficient, sustainable and scalable manner
  • Spearhead the implementation of rapid learning cycles into the project planning process
  • Other duties as required to help fulfill our organization’s goals and mission

Product Development:

  • Conduct user testing, and analyze data and feedback to inform product updates and changes
  • Conduct research and analysis of needs in the market to make recommendations for product enhancements
  • Design and lead a rigorous quality control process to ensure the product meets our high standards

  • Excels in an ambiguous and dynamic environment and can effectively juggle multiple time-sensitive tasks at once
  • Is organized, detail-oriented, and committed to producing excellent work
  • Demonstrates evidence of building, maintaining, and delivering on strong project plans and timelines in collaboration with the team
  • Excellent research skills, with the ability to gather information from a variety of sources and synthesize complex topics into clear and concise content.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a small team and communicate ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Exhibits a problem-solving mindset, a strong sense of curiosity, and a passion for learning and staying up-to-date on the latest trends in education and learning technologies.
  • 5+ years of professional work experience with a track record of success, ideally in project management
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

We're eager to meet people that believe in our mission and can contribute to our team in a variety of ways - not just candidates who check all the boxes.

  • 5+ years of experience working remotely with team members across different time zones
  • Proximate lived experience with our target audience(s) of learners
  • Deep commitment to education and educational equity, familiarity with the field through experience working in K-12 setting or other education organizations
  • Familiarity with innovation and design thinking principles

Because our workplace operates remotely, this role requires access to a workspace with an internet connection speed that will support uninterrupted video conferencing via Zoom. This role must be able to meet regularly with remote team members and partners on camera without background distractions.

This position is designed to be remote/virtual, as Formation Ventures and Cambiar Education have team members based throughout the country. Regular working hours are 8am-6pm in employees’ home time zones, however, as an early-stage startup we expect occasional evening or weekend work time to be necessary in order to meet our goals. This position will require up to 15% travel / 6 weeks per year to attend team retreats and conferences, and meet in person with team members for working sessions.

This is a full-time role, with a pay rate of $85,000-105,000 annually depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, participation in a 401K plan with employer contribution, life insurance coverage, PTO and paid holidays, as well as paid parental leave.

Formation Ventures and Cambiar Education are equal opportunity employers.
