FLi Sci is a nonprofit organization serving first-gen/low-income (FLi) students of color that are historically excluded from science. We are on a mission to drastically diversify the scientific and medical profession to ensure that our leading science researchers reflect the rich diversity of the world. At its core, FLi Sci aims to provide empowering research experiences to students that currently reside in areas where such opportunities are either severely limited or nonexistent. We strategically parter with pre-college programs, schools, and education leaders that share our vision of a more equitable access to postsecondary opportunities — and we expand that vision for our scholars to earn graduate degrees. Our flagship program, FLi Sci Scholars, works with a cohort of 20-40 students each year to embark on a 2-year fellowship that prepares them to lead their research while learning how to navigate a college and career pathway into academic science and medicine.
