F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.
F4F was incubated at Mulago, Fast Forward, NSRCEL-IIMB, The Nudge Institute and Shakti - The Empathy Project. Our work has been supported by several organizations including Accenture, ACT Grants, Opus Software Solutions, Rainmatter Foundation and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies.

Job Description
Role
Farmers for Forests (F4F) is seeking a full-time employee for the Senior Vice President – Finance position.
The Senior VP – Finance will work closely with the Executive Director to shape the organisation’s financial strategy, oversee budgeting and financial management, ensure effective allocation of resources, and support fundraising efforts to enable organizational growth and long-term sustainability.
This role will play a critical part in building robust financial systems as F4F continues to scale its agroforestry, biochar, and ecosystem restoration programs across India.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Executive Director and leadership team to develop and implement the organization’s financial strategy.
- Lead the development and management of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans.
- Design financial models and projections for agroforestry, biochar, and other ecosystem restoration programs for donors, carbon financiers, and investors.
- Streamline and oversee day-to-day finance processes across F4F’s programs and operations.
- Oversee financial operations, including accounting, expenses, payroll, financial reporting, and compliance.
- Monitor cash flow, manage financial planning, and ensure responsible allocation of organizational resources.
- Coordinate with program teams, operations teams, and leadership to ensure budgets align with program implementation.
- Prepare financial reports, dashboards, and analyses for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
- Support fundraising and partnership efforts by preparing grant budgets, financial projections, and financial reports for donors and investors.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, financial regulations, and audit processes.
- Continuously strengthen financial systems, workflows, and internal controls to support the organization’s growth.

Requirements
- Overall experience of 5 or more years in a similar finance or financial management role.
- Strong experience managing budgets, financial planning, and financial operations in a growing organization.
- Proficiency in Excel, Zoho Books, and the Zoho suite for finance, expenses, and payroll management.
- Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work closely with leadership teams.
- Interest in climate action, ecological restoration, and rural development.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and support cross-functional decision-making.
