F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.

Job Description
Job Title: Vice President - Data Quality & Monitoring
About the Role
Farmers for Forests (F4F) is seeking a full-time employee for the Vice President - Data Quality & Monitoring position.
The Vice President - Data Quality & Monitoring will be responsible for leading the data quality and monitoring team at F4F and for ensuring all field data and knowledge collected in the day-to-day operations of the organization gets stored and analyzed efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Work with field teams, the call center team, the quality check team, and the co-founders to ensure that data collection processes are streamlined and functioning smoothly.
Collaborate with the technology and data engineering teams who manage our database and analyze our drone and satellite imagery to ensure that all field data is integrated into our automated data pipelines.
Act as the primary owner of critical tree survival data and be responsible for deciding which number to report to clients.
Work closely with third-party principal investigators and impact measurement firms to continuously evaluate impact and help the operations team incorporate findings to improve program design and refine implementation models.
Support research efforts, write fundraising applications and donor reports, and create social media posts, blogs, and articles that communicate work and findings to a wide variety of audiences.
Roles and Responsibilities
Set up repeatable survey and data collection protocols for large-scale agro-forestry, cookstove, carbon removal, and other environmental projects.
Supervise and mentor Data Quality Associates and Field Monitors to enhance capacity, efficiency, and accountability.
Review, audit, and approve data validation outputs from associates to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project guidelines, including being the final decision-maker on tree survival and mortality reporting.
Develop data verification checklists and implement systematic approaches for document scrutiny and digital record validation.
Coordinate between the data, tech, field operations, and finance teams to ensure smooth information flow and timely completion of tasks.
Spend time regularly in the field to get a thorough understanding of how the operations team functions.
Manage the data quality and audit team responsible for conducting quality audits in the field and bringing additional robustness to the data quality and audit process.
Write code and support the team in automating the data quality checks process.
Coordinate with research teams and third-party impact evaluation organizations.
Set up processes to collect more qualitative data and stories from the field.
Write fundraising applications.
Write social media posts, blogs, newsletters, and other articles that highlight impact and findings.
Communicate work to funders and supporters on a regular basis.
Requirements
Overall experience of >5 years. Strong leadership and team management experience. Experience working in rural India is a big plus.
Passionate about rural development, ecological restoration, and fighting climate change.
Excellent communication skills; is curious and enjoys researching, writing, and speaking about field data, ecological restoration, and climate change.
Able to translate data into digestible stories, document field best practices and case studies, develop SOPs, and participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings to share this information.
Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, ODK, and data validation tools (knowledge of any of STATA, R, Python, SQL, Power BI / Superset is an advantage but can be picked up on the job).
Ability to analyze and manage data with a focus on accuracy and quality.
Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
Willingness to travel for field audits and monitoring.
Enjoys working with a diverse set of people and is collaborative.
Fluent in Hindi and English; fluency in Marathi will be a plus.
