About Us

F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.

Job Description

Role Summary

The Field Manager will be responsible for overall site operations, maintenance, biodiversity management, and educational engagement at the Biodiversity Park (BD Hub), Manchar. The role includes supervision of field staff while ensuring structured visitor engagement, ecological documentation, reporting, and smooth day-to-day functioning of the park.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and overall functioning of the Biodiversity Park, ensuring cleanliness, infrastructure upkeep, and site standards.

  2. Supervise nursery and maintenance staff; monitor plantation health and survival rates, irrigation systems, and habitat conditions.

  3. Maintain biodiversity records, including flora and fauna data, ecological observations, and site development documentation.

  4. Manage inventory of nursery inputs, tools, and operational consumables.

  5. Plan and coordinate visits of volunteers, community members, stakeholders, and students, ensuring structured and meaningful engagement experiences.

  6. Conduct guided trails, orientation sessions, and educational activities, interpreting the ecological significance and development journey of the biodiversity zones.

  7. Supervise and guide Field Associates responsible for school outreach and mobilization under the Schools for Forests program.

  8. Maintain operational and activity reports, ensure achievement of plantation and engagement targets, and coordinate with the Senior Manager for planning and review.


Requirements

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Biodiversity, Ecology, or a related field.

  • Relevant 3–5 years of experience in plantation management, environmental projects, biodiversity parks, or field operations (preferred).

Desired Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of biodiversity, ecology, and environmental education concepts.

  • Ability to confidently engage and communicate with students, volunteers, and community groups.

  • Team supervision and leadership capability.

  • Basic documentation, reporting, and record-keeping skills.

  • Organizational and coordination abilities for managing site operations and field visits.

  • Languages known: Marathi, Hindi, English.
