Job Description
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Project Officer to be embedded within the PCCF Office, Nagpur
The role will support the Forest Department in coordination, documentation, data management, reporting, and inter-departmental communication
The officer will work closely with senior forest officials to streamline workflows, support project implementation, and ensure timely reporting and data consolidation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Support the PCCF office in data logging, record maintenance, and documentation related to forestry projects and initiatives
Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, briefs, and official communications for internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate between the PCCF office, divisional offices, NGOs, consultants, and other government departments
Track the progress of ongoing projects, schemes, and pilots; maintain dashboards or status trackers as required.
Support scheduling, meeting coordination, minutes of meetings (MoMs), and follow-up actions
Assist in compiling and reviewing data related to forest management, conservation, community projects, and monitoring initiatives
Facilitate information flow between field offices and state-level leadership
Ensure compliance with reporting formats, timelines, and documentation standards
Provide ad-hoc administrative, technical, or project support as required by the PCCF office
Requirements
Graduate or postgraduate degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Sociology, Development Studies, or related fields
3–6 years of experience working with government departments, public institutions, or large development projects
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English required; Marathi and Hindi strongly preferred)
Strong reporting, documentation, and presentation skills
Experience in government coordination, project management, or policy support
Ability to work with senior officials in a structured, confidential, and professional manner
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Comfort working in a semi-bureaucratic environment
GIS skills (QGIS/ArcGIS/Google Earth Pro) and ability to work with spatial data are highly desirable
