About Us

F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.

Job Description

The Field Manager will be responsible for end-to-end execution of on-ground plantation, biodiversity enhancement, and restoration projects. You will work closely with local communities, government departments, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure that all projects are implemented effectively, within timelines, and in accordance with environmental standards. This role requires frequent travel to field sites and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and field teams.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage the day-to-day implementation of plantation and ecological restoration activities.

  • Liaise with government departments, local bodies, and stakeholders for project approvals and smooth execution.

  • Monitor and supervise plantation, landscaping, park development, and lake rejuvenation work.

  • Ensure adherence to environmental guidelines, project timelines, and allocated budgets.

  • Conduct regular field visits to assess progress and resolve on-ground challenges.

  • Prepare and submit progress reports, documentation, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Maintain detailed data records on plantation species, survival rates, and site maintenance.

  • Support community engagement, local awareness campaigns, and capacity-building programs.

  • Work with landscape architects and environmental consultants for technical planning and execution.


Requirements

  • Someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Forestry, Agriculture, Horticulture, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

  • 3–4 years of experience in coordinating afforestation, landscaping, or urban ecological restoration projects.

  • Strong field management and project coordination skills.

  • Familiarity with native species, sustainable afforestation, and biodiversity practices.

  • Comfortable managing multiple sites and stakeholders in parallel.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and documentation skills.

  • Proficient in MS Office; knowledge of GIS, AutoCAD, or project management tools is a plus.

  • Willingness to travel within Maharashtra or Karnataka.

  • Passionate about climate resilience, ecological restoration, and rural livelihoods.

Salary Range: 3.6 to 4.5 L
