About Us

F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.

F4F was incubated at Mulago, Fast Forward, NSRCEL-IIMB, The Nudge Institute and Shakti - The Empathy Project. Our work has been supported by several organizations including Accenture, ACT Grants, Opus Software Solutions, Rainmatter Foundation and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies.

We have also featured on DW TV and Scroll's Eco India series as well as DW Hindi. We have also been selected as one of India's top innovators working in the ecosystem restoration and conservation sector by the World Economic Forum.

Job Description

The Chief of Staff will partner closely with the Founders to drive organizational execution, streamline systems, and oversee cross-functional initiatives in a rapidly growing organization. The role requires a strategic, structured, and execution-oriented leader with proven experience supporting or leading similar operational and strategic functions in a scaling environment.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic thought partner to the Founders, ensuring organizational priorities are clearly defined, communicated, and executed across all teams.

  • Leverage prior experience in organizational building—strategy, process design, systems rollout, and cross-team coordination—in a growing or fast-scaling enterprise.

  • Build and implement systems for project management, decision tracking, internal communication, and information flow to drive efficiency across the organization.

  • Lead and monitor the execution of high-priority initiatives across operations, fundraising, HR, technology, and communications.

  • Represent the Founders’ Office in external meetings with donors, advisors, partners, and senior stakeholders, ensuring diligent follow-through on decisions.

  • Implement enterprise tools (CRMs, project management platforms, knowledge repositories) and guide teams in adoption, usage, and maintenance.

  • Support fundraising through proposal development, narrative building, data consolidation, and coordinated donor engagement.

  • Manage leadership-team processes including annual planning, OKRs, progress reviews, and bottleneck resolution.

  • Strengthen organization-wide communication by ensuring clarity, alignment, and timely updates across all levels.

  • Lead special strategic projects requiring cross-department collaboration, structured problem-solving, and high execution ownership.

  • Identify organizational gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities, and independently design and drive solutions without waiting for direction.

Requirements

  • 6–10 years of experience leading cross-functional projects, systems-building, or strategic execution in a growing organization (social enterprise, startup, consulting, climate/sustainability sector preferred).

  • Strong project management and operational leadership skills with the ability to bring structure, order, and follow-through in unstructured environments.

  • Highly proactive “gets-things-done” mindset with the ability to anticipate needs, push initiatives forward, and work independently.

  • Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate across diverse teams.

  • Strong analytical and organizational capability, with fluency in implementing digital systems (CRMs, project management tools, knowledge management systems).

  • Entrepreneurial, collaborative, mission-driven, and deeply committed to climate action and rural development.

  • Fluency in English and Hindi is required.
