F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December 2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and restoration activities.

Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Manager – GIS to lead the development and implementation of AI-based geospatial models that support F4F’s carbon and ecosystem monitoring initiatives. The role involves overseeing land-use classification, satellite-based monitoring, and data integration to ensure scientific accuracy and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in GIS, remote sensing, and AI/ML applications for environmental and forestry projects.
Roles and Responsibilities
Work with the GIS team to develop AI-based land-use classification models for assessing plot eligibility.
Conduct thorough testing and deployment of AI-based land-use classification models.
Support the Carbon team for control plot identification and dynamic baselining calculation for carbon credit projects.
Ensure accurate collection of KML files from the field and verify the eligibility of all plots.
Approve uploaded KML files, ensuring KML quality, plot eligibility, and exclusivity of the KML files.
Coordinate with carbon financiers to provide final KML files and associated GIS data.
Enhance tree monitoring and ecosystem analysis using high-resolution satellite imagery.
Requirements
Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience in GIS, remote sensing, geoinformatics, or data science.
Academic background in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, or Data Science.
Strong understanding and practical experience in AI and ML applications.
Proficiency in Python and data analysis.
Experience in forest monitoring using remote sensing and AI is preferred.
Strong understanding of satellite data and its applications in environmental monitoring and management.
