About Every.org

Every.org is building a more generous world by making philanthropy easy, joyful, and impactful.

We are a nonprofit tech platform that simplifies giving for donors and nonprofits. We make it possible to donate cash, stock, crypto, DAFs, Venmo, PayPal, and more — all through a free, open-source donate button.

We're a small, fast-moving team that has grown 60% year-over-year, with over $180M donated through the platform to date. Our infrastructure is funded by philanthropists, including Camp.org and Fidelity Charitable Catalyst Fund — so nonprofits can use Every.org for free.

If you want to help generosity spread at internet speed, you'll love it here.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced, mission-driven Software Engineer who thrives in a high-ownership, low-bureaucracy environment. You'll work across the entire stack — from donor-facing product flows and nonprofit integrations to the payment infrastructure that processes millions of dollars in charitable giving.

You'll help identify problems, shape solutions, and ship iteratively in a space where quality and trust really matter. Our engineering team is intentionally lean, which means the best fit here is a scrappy generalist or early-stage startup engineer: someone who picks up new domains quickly, moves fast, and is self-motivated to drive work forward without a lot of process around them.

You should be:

  • Excited to ship, learn, improve, repeat
  • Comfortable in frontend and backend — you move fluidly across the stack
  • Scrappy and self-motivated
  • Product-minded
  • Ownership-driven
  • Low ego and collaborative

What You'll Do

Build and ship product.

  • Own features end-to-end, from schema design through deployment
  • Work closely with product and design to translate complex giving scenarios (stock, crypto, DAF) into seamless user experiences
  • Build and maintain integrations with payment processors, third-party tools, and financial partners
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and technical direction

Ensure reliability at scale.

  • Design and improve systems that process high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to production incidents
  • Monitor platform health and proactively identify areas for improvement
  • Build internal tooling that supports nonprofit onboarding and operations

Raise the technical bar.

  • Contribute through code reviews, design reviews, and documentation
  • Collaborate with other engineers and share knowledge across the team
  • Identify and address technical debt with a pragmatic, iterative approach
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and help the team make informed technology choices

Collaborate across teams.

  • Work closely with Product to scope and execute on roadmap priorities
  • Partner with Customer Support to identify and fix friction points in the donor journey
  • Support Partnerships and nonprofit integrations from a technical perspective

Qualifications

  • 5+ years building and maintaining complex full-stack applications, or equivalent demonstrated experience
  • Strong proficiency across the web stack: We use TypeScript, React, Node.js, PostgreSQL
  • Comfort with payment systems, financial APIs, or other high-reliability transactional systems
  • Strong system design fundamentals and ability to navigate technical tradeoffs
  • Self-directed with a track record of driving projects forward independently
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable using AI tools to move faster: whether that's writing code, debugging, or exploring unfamiliar problem spaces

Bonus if you:

  • Have a strong frontend background
  • Have experience at a nonprofit tech, fintech, or social-good startup
  • Have experience with application security, secure payment flows, or compliance frameworks (SOC2, etc)
  • Are familiar with donation vehicles like DAFs, stock giving, or crypto
  • Have experience with cloud infrastructure

Compensation and Benefits

  • Salary range: $130,000-$150,000
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Fully remote with flexible hours
  • $1,000 annual tech allowance
  • Healthcare (medical, dental, vision)
  • 401(k), life and AD&D insurance

If this sounds like you, we would love to chat!
