Use data, technology and insight to help improve lives
Social Finance is an ambitious not-for-profit organisation working to design, fund and scale better solutions to complex social problems.
Through IPS Grow, Social Finance supports the expansion and improvement of Individual Placement and Support services (IPS). IPS is an evidence-based approach that helps people with mental health conditions, people overcoming alcohol and drug addiction or who otherwise face economic exclusion, to find and sustain paid employment.
Data sits at the heart of this work.
IPS Grow is now looking for a Data Manager to help shape how data, insight and technology are used to improve services and outcomes. This is an opportunity to work with rich individual-level data and build systems that provide more meaningful, actionable insight into the impact of services.
You will work closely with operational teams, analysts, Salesforce specialists, developers and external partners to ensure technology and data genuinely support the people delivering and using IPS services.
For example, ensuring teams can access dashboards with key insights in their own time, or exploring the relationship between workforce training completion, fidelity, and programme outcomes.
This is a role for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with practical delivery and wants to make a tangible difference through better use of data and technology.
The role
- Lead the planning and delivery of a portfolio of data and digital projects across IPS Grow
- Take ownership of key Salesforce and digital workstreams, ensuring systems continue to meet the needs of operational teams
- Work with users and stakeholders to understand their needs and translate these into practical system and technology solutions
- Act as a bridge between operational teams, analysts, Salesforce administrators, developers and external technology partners
- Help shape a user-centred approach to systems and processes, ensuring the right people can access the right information at the right time
- Lead requirements gathering, discovery and solution design activities
- Ensure systems are designed to capture high-quality data and support meaningful reporting and actionable insight
- Work closely with analysts and reporting specialists to improve how data is used to understand service performance and outcomes
- Support the development of individual-level reporting and insight into programme outcomes
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, automation and reporting
- Provide day-to-day leadership and coordination across Salesforce-related initiatives
- Work closely with Salesforce Administrators and Developers to prioritise and deliver platform improvements
- Support the development of scalable systems and infrastructure as IPS Grow continues to evolve
- Embed strong practices around data protection, information governance, security and compliance
- Manage relationships with external technology suppliers, implementation partners and consultants
- Support organisational change and encourage the adoption of new systems and ways of working
The person
- Experience managing complex data, digital, technology or CRM projects from inception through to delivery
- Experience acting as a Product Owner, Systems Manager, Project Manager or similar role for business-critical technology platforms
- Experience working with Salesforce or another CRM platform
- Comfortable working with technical specialists including Developers, Administrators, Analysts and Data professionals
- Strong experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into practical technology solutions
- Understanding of data governance, information management, reporting and data protection requirements
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience managing multiple projects, priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
- A user-focused approach, with an interest in designing systems around the needs of the people using them
- Curious, analytical and solutions-focused, with the ability to bring structure to complex problems
- Passionate about using data, insight and technology to improve services and outcomes
The benefits
- Flexible and hybrid working
- Healthcare cash plan
- Mental health support, including Mental Health Aiders
- Generous holiday allowance of 25 days with the ability to buy and sell up to 5 additional days
- 3 days closure between Christmas and New Year
