What is Duet:
Duet is an online micro-philanthropy platform that allows donors to provide meaningful aid to vulnerable populations through personalized item donations that meet their needs rapidly and sustainably. We currently provide personalized aid to resettled refugees in Greece, through partnerships with local stores.
Our product consists of a donor-facing website, a fully-automated item request/pickup system used by 25+ (and counting) refugee families halfway across the globe, and a stores portal for store owners in Greece to manage their inventory of requested items.
Who is Duet:
We are a group of 7 USC students and recent graduates who are building Duet out of the Innovation in Engineering Design for Global Challenges class. We have been operating since March 2019: since then, we have facilitated over $40,000 in donations and built a network of 350+ donors.
Duet has been featured in Viterbi News and Marshall News.
Duet is currently registered as a nonprofit, and is pending 501(c)(3) status.
The Role:
Duet is looking for an entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and collaborative campus lead to help us establish Duet’s presence in colleges across the US. You will play a central role in expanding the campus presence of an agile nonprofit organization that is serious about using technology for social good.
You will:
Seek out and engage campus-specific partners that are open to collaborative opportunities (e.g. student organizations, professors, and local establishments)
Plan and execute events to increase awareness of Duet on your campus
Create marketing and promotional materials to increase traffic at these events
Collaborate with the Head of College Expansion with all event concepts and promotions
Contribute to short-term and long-term donor acquisition and retention discussions
Qualifications:
This position might be a great fit if:
You have prior experience hosting and planning events
You understand the pulse of your campus and what would make a great partnership
A detail orientated self starter who can work independently
An entrepreneurial thinker that sees potential in different opportunities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks while meeting deadlines
Why Duet:
Duet offers an opportunity to improve real lives, solve hard problems, and to make the world a smaller, friendlier place. You will gain firsthand experience with all parts of a social impact start-up (a great resume boost!) while being a part of a supportive and engaged team of fellow changemakers who are determined to make this a sustainable long-term venture. Join us in doing good, better.
How to apply:
Please send your resume/CV to hello@giveduet.org along with a short cover letter detailing your interest in the position.
