Associate Development Director

Position Summary

The Associate Development Director supports DeliverFund's fundraising, grant development, donor

communications, and development operations. This role helps drive revenue growth by managing

fundraising systems, coordinating grant and donor pipelines, drafting compelling communications,

and improving internal processes that increase efficiency and consistency across the development

function.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising and Donor Support

• Support the execution of individual giving, institutional fundraising, and campaign strategies.

• Draft and edit donor-facing communications, including emails, acknowledgments, outreach

messages, impact language, one-pagers, and stewardship materials.

• Assist with donor research, prospect identification, and qualification for individuals,

foundations, and strategic partners.

• Craft donor impact language and giving-level messaging for appeals, stewardship, and

fundraising collateral.

• Monitor giving activity across fundraising platforms and support timely follow-up,

acknowledgments, and internal communication around gifts.

Moves Management and Donor Portfolio Management

• Support moves management strategy for individual donors and prospects by tracking next steps,

follow-up actions, cultivation activity, and stewardship touches.

• Help maintain donor portfolios by organizing prospect and donor records, updating relationship

notes, and ensuring portfolio activity is current and actionable.

• Assist in identifying donor upgrade, reactivation, and retention opportunities through ongoing

review of giving history, engagement, and communication activity.• Coordinate outreach and follow-up tasks that move donors through qualification, cultivation,

solicitation, and stewardship stages.

• Prepare donor briefings, contact reports, and portfolio updates to support leadership and frontline

fundraising activity.

• Help ensure donor management activity is documented consistently in CRM and related systems to

improve accountability, visibility, and continuity.

Grants and Institutional Giving

• Manage grant tracking systems, application timelines, and supporting documentation for active

and prospective opportunities.

• Conduct ongoing grant research and surface relevant new funding opportunities aligned with

DeliverFund's mission and programs.

• Prepare letters of inquiry, grant applications, proposal narratives, attachments, and supporting

materials.

• Maintain a clear, organized grants pipeline that tracks deadlines, requirements, status, and next

actions.

• Support reporting and stewardship needs for foundation and institutional funders.

Development Operations and Systems

• Maintain organized digital files, templates, and internal resources for development and

fundraising use.

• Support the use and refinement of internal tools, automations, and workflows that improve team

efficiency.

• Coordinate data entry, system updates, and process tracking across fundraising and grants

platforms.

• Help monitor recurring administrative and operational tasks related to development activity.

• Assist in compiling internal metrics, pipeline updates, and development reporting.

Communications and External Engagement

• Draft and adapt organizational descriptions, talking points, presentations, and external

materials for conferences, partnerships, and fundraising opportunities.

• Support outreach and follow-up with funders, partners, conference organizers, and strategic

contacts.• Translate DeliverFund's technical and operational impact into clear, compelling language for

donor and institutional audiences.

• Contribute to special projects that strengthen DeliverFund's positioning, visibility, and

development readiness.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• Experience in nonprofit fundraising, donor relations, grants, communications, or development

operations.

• Strong writing and editing skills with the ability to tailor tone and message to different

audiences.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects simultaneously.

• Comfort working with CRMs, grant tracking tools, shared digital workspaces, and automated

workflows.

• Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.

• Interest in mission-driven work related to combating human trafficking and supporting law

enforcement.
