What you'll be doing:

The Public Policy and Advocacy Team collaborates with the federal government, state governments, and community stakeholders/partners in advancing and influencing mental health policy and raising awareness about mental health and crisis intervention in service of Crisis Text Line’s mission.

The Community Partnerships Manager will support the organization’s efforts to secure new and maintain existing partnerships with nonprofits, community organizations, school systems, and universities. The manager will be responsible for identifying and qualifying potential partners, especially in the education space. They will be integral to maintaining existing relationships through strong customer service and account management. They will be responsible for the Campus Advocate Program as a part of the University partnership efforts.

This position is a critical liaison between the business development and public policy teams—utilizing proven business and sales strategies to interface with education systems stakeholders and community-based organizations.

Responsibilities:

Partnership Development and Management - Education System

  • Owns Education partnerships from pitching to contract negotiations to launch
  • Creates and works against a pipeline of potential partners in the education space—especially Universities—prioritizing systems with high-volume potential and those that serve vulnerable communities.

Partnership Development and Management - Community Organizations

  • Supports all community partner negotiations, contracts, invoicing, and upselling where appropriate.
  • Educates partners about our data trends and onboards them to our partner dashboards.
  • Vets overall community inbound partnership opportunities for the potential to drive substantial impact with texters and support for vulnerable and marginalized communities.
  • Surfaces best practices for partners by brainstorming specific use cases, and analyzing data to identify trends that can help us iterate on our partnerships.
  • Leverages Salesforce NPSP to track fundraising goals, partner needs, and contract renewals.
  • Engages existing Community partners through ongoing communications with a focus on delivering value, driving volume and creating a safe and inclusive service for all.
  • Fosters collective collaboration among partners
  • Shares organizational statements and campaigns in a timely manner.
  • Assists in the navigation of strategic government and nonprofit opportunities.

Campus Advocates (CA) Program

  • Develops and maintains a pipeline of university student Campus Advocates
  • Utilizes Salesforce for comprehensive tracking
  • Creatively develops relevant tabling kits
  • Communicates regularly with Campus Advocates about Crisis Text Line tentpole events
  • Provides general support for campus tabling events
  • Works closely with Business Development Team to market the CA Program to potential funders

Cross - Functional Collaboration

  • Maintains strong cross-functional relationships with internal teams including but not limited to Business Development, Marketing and Communications, Legal, Finance, Engineering, Product and Design, and other teams necessary to drive external partnerships
  • Collaborates cross-functionally on initiatives such as recruitment and volunteer experience.
  • Attends regular meetings with Business Development’s leadership and team to strategize and collaborate around driving revenue for the organization.
  • Actively supports individual, team, and org racial equity knowledge, and applies understanding through ongoing learning, reflecting and dialogue opportunities

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in community partnership management, nonprofit administration or business development
  • Superior relationship management and communication skills
  • An understanding of the mental health or crisis intervention space
  • Ability to identify value and risks in partnership opportunities to reach strategic goals
  • A flexible approach to work, with the ability to pivot directions quickly.
  • BA/BS required or equivalent experience

Reliable High-Speed Internet Required: Must have a stable high-speed internet connection to support seamless remote collaboration, virtual meetings, online job tasks, etc.

The full salary range for this position, across all United States geographies, is $66,000 - $89,250 per year. The upper portion of the salary range is typically reserved for existing employees who demonstrate strong performance over time. Starting salary will vary by location, qualifications, and prior experience; during the interview process, candidates will learn the starting salary range applicable for their location. We pay competitively in the tech-forward nonprofit space and offer a robust benefits package.
