JOB OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and self-motivated Development Coordinator to join our Development team. The ideal candidate is confident in their abilities to communicate clearly and to request and ensure clarity when needed. The coordinator will be joining a highly collaborative team that is passionate about building a more healthy, equitable, and empowering future for all kids in the digital age.
LOCATION: San Francisco, California (Hybrid)
REPORTS TO: Director, Development Operations & Communications
SALARY: $22.00–$26.00 per hour
TYPE: Full-time, non-exempt

Gift Processing and Donor Services (25%)

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Gift Processing and Donor Services (25%)
- Process and maintain records on all gifts, pledges, and donor-related transactions daily, including capturing data in a timely manner, creating the ongoing pledge reminder calendar, and scanning/uploading important gift documentation.
- Prepare timely gift acknowledgments and donation receipts.
- Provide weekly updated revenue dashboard report.
- Serve as Development liaison to the Finance department to conduct revenue reconciliations and financial audits.
- Provide the highest level of service to donors via phone, email, and in writing.
- Support data entry and report generation with oversight from the Director and the Individual Giving Manager. Ensure that Salesforce database records are accurate and up to date. Run, maintain and distribute weekly reports for the team and as needed.
- Support regular meetings with Development support team and frontline fundraisers related to research, portfolio review, and moves management.
- Organize and maintain foundation and corporate sponsorship materials. Assist with prospecting and communication documentation upon request.
- Assist in coordinating the mid-year and year-end fundraising appeals, including preparing mailing lists, producing letters, and managing stewardship reports.
- Support and manage donor analysis and prospect research projects as needed.
- Manage the Development team's calendar and timely communication regarding scheduling and schedule changes, meeting planning, and priority of tasks.
- Support preparation for weekly Development team meetings and assist with note taking.
- Support the Development team in scheduling and preparation for donor meetings and other related donor contacts and events.
- Provide administrative support for development and office activities, including mailings, development expense budget tracking, and maintenance of files on Google Drive.
- Support logistics for Development team meetings and retreats.
- In coordination with the organization's Events team, support successful planning and execution of all Development events.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Requires a minimum of 1 to 2 years of related experience in administrative support/nonprofit/development settings.
- Ability to work individually and as a member of a team with superb flexibility.
- Familiarity with education/nonprofit settings preferred.
- Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the organization's values.
- Interest in and ability to articulate the mission of Common Sense Media.
- Creative energy, self-starting with strong attention to detail, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to organize and manage multiple assignments.
- Strong familiarity and comfort with database management. Salesforce knowledge is preferred.
- Familiarity and comfort with donor prospecting, cultivation, and stewardship preferred.
- Excellent computer skills, including experience with Zoom, Google Suite, MS Office, and Canva.
