About CodeYogi Foundation
CodeYogi Foundation teaches AI skills to underserved students across India — mobile-first, in the student's own language, with an AI tutor on the phone already in their hand. No laptop, no English requirement, no teacher in the loop. We've reached 3 lakh students across 9 states and 98 districts, nearly half of them girls, with roughly 95% learning on a smartphone alone.
We bootstrapped for five years on the founder's own funding, began external fundraising in October 2025, and we're aiming for 10 lakh students by 2027.
The Role
Great videos are at the heart of how we make AI education simple and accessible for millions of learners. We're looking for an AI Video Editor who pairs a real editor's eye with an AI-native workflow.Fully manual editing can't keep pace with what the mission needs - and rushing it is where quality slips. You'll use AI to escape that trade-off: auto-captioning and translation, voiceover and dubbing into Indian languages, generative B-roll, denoise, and long-form-to-Shorts. The goal is speed and quality - not one at the cost of the other.
You won't be doing it alone. You'll work alongside a strong, mission-driven team whose craft will push yours - sharing rough cuts early, taking notes, and getting sharper together.
This isn't a creative director role, nor is it limited to one format. It's for an editor who's genuinely range-y, sharp with short-form hooks, patient with long-form storytelling — who treats AI as a force-multiplier and not a crutch, and wants their work to bring AI education to students who'd otherwise be left out.
What You'll Do
Short-form Social (45%)
- Cut Reels, Shorts, and WhatsApp clips - hook in the first 2 seconds, captioned for sound-off
- Repurpose one long-form asset into a week of short-form across 9:16, 1:1, and 16:9
- Fill footage gaps with AI-generated B-roll and stylised visuals
Long-form & Vernacular Educational Content (35%)
- Cut course/lesson videos for small-screen retention
- Dub and subtitle the same lesson into Hindi and other Indian languages, QA'd for accuracy and timing
- Source music, stock, and supplementary AI visuals
Donor & Impact Films (20%)
- Cut 2–3 minute donor/impact and student-story films from raw footage — with dignity, consent, and accuracy
Must-Have Skills & Experience
1. Video Editing Craft — Short-form + Long-form (2-5 years)
- Strong pacing and clean cuts; captions that read on a phone; sound and colour that serve the content
- Working graphic design skills in Photoshop (and ideally the wider Adobe Creative Suite) for thumbnails, lower-thirds, and static social assets
- Fluent in a modern NLE (Premiere, DaVinci, Final Cut, or CapCut Pro)
2. AI Video-Tooling Fluency (hands-on)
- Working experience with AI tools across the pipeline — e.g. auto-caption/transcription AI voiceover/dubbing, AI avatars/text-to-video, generative B-roll, denoise/enhance, and long-form-to-Shorts repurposing
- Uses AI with judgment: checks output, catches bad captions or dubs, and knows when the manual cut is better
3. Story & Audience Sense (2-5 years)
- Cuts the same footage differently for a Reels viewer, a learner, and a donor; centres student agency — no poverty porn
Nice to have
- Hindi/vernacular fluency - you can QA a dub or subtitle for tone, not just timing
- Prompt/workflow tinkering - small AI presets or pipelines that save the team hours
- Motion graphics - basic After Effects (titles, callouts, simple animation)
- Education / social-impact experience - non-profit, ed-tech, or development video
What Success Looks Like in 6 Months
- AI-assisted workflow – Output scales up without quality dropping
- Vernacular course videos – Shipped in Hindi + one more language, with clean subtitles and dubbing
- Reusable system – Templates, captions, and dubbing setup the next editor can plug into
- Donor/impact film – At least one strong video shipped
- Founder's role shifts – Reviewing finished cuts, not directing every edit
Who You Are (Foundational Qualities)
We hire for character first, skills second. Eight qualities, non-negotiable:
- Mission Alignment – you cut for the student, not the showreel
- Ownership – you build it from scratch, and you finish it: exported, captioned, confirmed
- Resourcefulness – strong video from imperfect source
- Empathy – same footage, three cuts, for a scroller, a learner, a donor; you treat students on screen as people, not subjects
- Integrity – no misleading composites, no AI moment passed off as real, no consent shortcuts
- Communication – you share rough cuts early, and take notes well
- Adaptability – format changes, tool changes — your quality doesn't
- Excellence – bad audio, a misspelled name on screen, a botched dub, or a blown-out mix is a dealbreaker, never fail to check for QA
What We're NOT Looking For
- AI-only operator – can prompt a tool but has no underlying editorial judgment, pacing sense, or story instinct
- AI-refuser – strong manually but unwilling to touch AI tools; you'll be too slow for the cadence
- Pure short-form editor – fast Reels but no patience for a 3-minute story arc
- Pure long-form editor – beautiful documentaries but freezes on a 30-second hook
- Polish-only editor – uncomfortable with imperfect source; a shaky phone video of a student's breakthrough is often our most powerful raw material
- Single-format editor — only one ratio, one platform, or one style
- Embellisher — believes misleading cutaways, AI-generated composites, or fabricated dialogue are "just video"
