Role Overview: The Junior Chief of Staff is a critical strategic partner to the CEO, providing high-level support across organizational leadership, operations, and fundraising initiatives. This role acts as a force multiplier for the CEO, ensuring seamless execution of strategic priorities, managing key stakeholder relationships, and driving operational excellence. Acting as the right hand to the CEO, the ideal candidate is a versatile professional who thrives in a dynamic startup environment, can toggle between strategic thinking and tactical implementation, and is passionate about advancing Closegap's mission to improve youth mental health.

Key Responsibilities:

Organizational Leadership & Strategy

  • Partner with the CEO on strategic initiatives
  • Support the CEO in leading cross-functional projects
  • Support product management
  • Manage research partnerships
  • Create a performance management framework
  • Assist the CEO in developing strategic plans

Coordination and Support

  • Plan conference visits, team offsites (agenda and content), and coordinate logistics (travel, accommodation, entertainment, etc)
  • Take notes during team meetings and manage follow-up
  • Support the CEO in preparing board presentations and materials
  • Support the CEO in hiring and onboarding new team members

Fundraising

  • Support the CEO in fundraising efforts
  • Track and report impact metrics
  • Improve fundraising systems and processes
  • Manage corporate partnerships
  • Manage accelerator relationships
  • Schedule and attend fundraising meetings, and handle follow-up
  • Lead donor email communications
  • Support grant reporting and compliance
  • Help prepare fundraising materials and presentations

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in operations, consulting, fundraising, project management, or similar roles
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Experience in nonprofit operations, fundraising, or startup environment preferred
  • Experience supporting executive leadership
  • Passionate about mental health, education, and Closegap's mission
  • K-12 Edtech experience is a plus!

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $75,000 - $95,000 annual salary
