We’re on the lookout for a Drupal theming expert to join our growing team. Your work will have a significant impact and the role will expose you to working on a range of open-source projects for the not-for-profit sector.
Your principal focus will be converting complex and challenging designs into responsive pixel perfect themes for the Drupal platform but we also develop other stand alone sites and platforms which will also require your styling expertise.

Key responsibilities:
- Convert design mockups (mainly Figma) into fully functional Drupal themes.
- Implement responsive, accessible, and cross-browser compatible front-end designs.
- Work closely with back-end developers to integrate theming with Drupal’s templating system.
- Create and maintain custom sub-themes based on base themes like Bootstrap.
- Ensure adherence to Drupal coding standards and best practices for front-end development.
- Optimise front-end performance (CSS/JS aggregation, image optimisation, lazy loading).
- Maintain consistent branding and UX across all site components.
- Debug and fix front-end and theming issues within Drupal environments.
- Collaborate with designers, UX specialists, and content editors to refine user experiences.
- Configure Drupal’s theme settings and manage asset libraries effectively.
- Implement accessibility (WCAG 2.1) and SEO best practices within the theme structure.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest Drupal theming techniques, front-end frameworks, and web standards.
Experience sought:
- Excellent experience with Drupal theming (both Drupal 7 and 8+ experience a positive)
- Excellent HTML and CSS skills including working knowledge of LESS or SASS
- Excellent HTML framework knowledge. For example: Bootstrap, Zurb Foundation or other in a Drupal environment
- Confidence with standard Javascript
- Basic site building (Views, Blocks, Rules, Paragraphs)
- Experience with version control systems like Git
- Confidence in a Linux/PHP based environment
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies
