Job Title: Director of Development, Corporate Relations

Our team consists of research scientists, race and equity experts, data professionals, and community trainers dedicated to creating a fair and just system.


Position Overview:

The Director of Development, Corporate Relations will be a strategic leader who is responsible for developing and implementing effective fundraising strategies and managing a portfolio of corporate donors and sponsors (75-125). Reporting to the Vice President of Development, this role will oversee corporate engagement strategies, identify new funding opportunities, and ensure alignment between corporate partnerships and CPE’s mission. The Director will work closely with internal stakeholders to enhance corporate philanthropic support and drive revenue growth.


Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising Strategy Development & Implementation

  • Develop and execute strategies to cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate partnerships.
  • Identify potential corporate sponsors and secure funding opportunities aligned with CPE’s mission.
  • Manage relationships with corporate donors, ensuring long-term engagement and impact.
  • Collaborate with program teams to align corporate contributions with organizational priorities.
  • Develop customized sponsorship opportunities and corporate giving programs (e.g. workplace, matching gifts, cause marketing).

Corporate Relations & Relationship Management

  • Work with leadership to set and achieve corporate fundraising goals.
  • Oversee sponsorship activations, recognition opportunities, and partner engagement initiatives.
  • Create compelling proposals, impact reports, and presentations for corporate funders.
  • Ensure corporate contributions are tracked, reported, and recognized appropriately.

Operational Oversight & Compliance

  • Oversee corporate partnership agreements and ensure adherence to ethical fundraising standards.
  • Coordinate with finance and legal teams to ensure compliance with gift agreements and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor and analyze corporate fundraising performance, adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and donor data in CRM systems such as Salesforce or Salsa.

Strategic Leadership

  • Supervise staff responsible for corporate fundraising initiatives as the team grows.
  • Lead the development of corporate partnership strategies and internal best practices.
  • Support hiring, onboarding, and professional development for the corporate relations team.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of gratitude and excellence across the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience in corporate fundraising, sponsorship development, or nonprofit partnerships.
  • Proven success in securing corporate sponsorships and managing five-and six-figure donor relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate philanthropy, cause marketing, and sponsorship trends.
  • Ability to create and execute strategic engagement plans for corporate partners.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Salsa.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in corporate fundraising for social justice or advocacy-focused organizations.
  • Background in strategic partnerships or corporate social responsibility (CSR).
  • Knowledge of industry trends in corporate philanthropy and employee engagement programs.

Compensation & Benefits:

Range: $120,000 - $135,000 USD. The base salary for this position will vary based on place of residence and job-related criteria including relevant skills, qualifications and experience, among other factors that commensurate with experience.
