Position Summary

Candid is a nonprofit that provides the most comprehensive data and insights about the social sector. We get you the information you need to do good. Candid currently has an opportunity for a Senior Product Manager to own the core platform that powers everything we build. This is a foundational role — the platform you steward underpins every Candid product, from our SaaS tools and APIs to data services and AI workflows. The Senior Product Manager will work with the Senior Director of Product Management to define and execute the platform roadmap, establish shared services that partner product teams depend on, and ensure Candid's technology foundation is scalable, reliable, and built for what comes next.

This role sits at the intersection of product, infrastructure, data, and emerging technology. The Senior Product Manager will lead platform discovery, drive adoption of AI and automation, own the ecommerce and payment systems that power how customers purchase and access Candid's products, and shape the onboarding experience that sets users up for success from day one. They will also make the hard prioritization calls that keep multiple product teams moving and own the migration away from legacy platforms — making deliberate, well-sequenced decisions about what gets rebuilt, retired, or replaced. The right candidate brings deep technical fluency, a track record of managing complex cross-team dependencies, and a genuine passion for building the systems that let great products exist.

Responsibilities

  • Own core global platform features and services across the full Candid product catalog including SaaS, APIs, data services, and AI workflows — delivering next-generation functionality to partner product teams and end users alike.
  • Create and maintain product roadmaps and backlogs for core platform features and systems, in alignment with other product teams, with ruthless focus on prioritization and cross-team dependencies.
  • Lead platform architecture decisions in partnership with engineering, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability as the foundation for all Candid products.
  • Define and enforce platform standards, shared services, and APIs that enable partner product teams to build efficiently and consistently.
  • Inform Candid's product strategy by collecting user feedback, market pain points, competitive analysis, stakeholder input, and the strategic value of existing and future data needs.
  • Lead product discovery with engineering, design, and data to identify, prototype, and implement solutions using emerging technologies — automating workflows, surfacing insights, and delivering critical context at scale — while continuously evaluating new tools to maintain competitive advantage.
  • Oversee development of integrations with the product portfolios of other teams.
  • Partner with product teams to prioritize work toward collective OKRs, target metrics, and customer-driven features

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience with complex, data-driven SaaS products; prior experience owning a shared platform, infrastructure product, or developer-facing product strongly preferred.
  • Deep familiarity with AI and emerging technologies, including prototyping, generative tools, and practical production implementations.
  • Experience with B2B subscription products (Salesforce or similar) and payment processing systems, including credit card and ACH.
  • Technical proficiency with data queries, APIs, and search technology — comfortable reading API documentation, writing basic queries, and engaging deeply in technical trade-off conversations with engineering.
  • Working knowledge of cloud infrastructure concepts (AWS or equivalent) — including serverless architecture, CDN delivery, rate limiting, and logging/observability tooling.
  • Proven ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration between design, engineering, data, and business stakeholders across multiple concurrent workstreams.
  • Strong documentation skills, both for technical audiences and external audiences.
  • Excellent communication skills — able to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences and advocate for platform investment at the leadership level.
  • Willingness to perform other duties and special projects as needed/requested.
  • Sensitivity and respect for racial, gender, sexual orientation, and cultural differences.
  • Champions and represents Candid’s core values: We’re driven, direct, accessible, curious, and inclusive.
