YOUR NEW OPPORTUNITY
This position will support Build Change Indonesia grant fundraising efforts and communications strategy, with a primary focus on prevention or pre-disaster mitigation programs. You are prepared to manage research, position, write, cultivate, and win grant proposals for a diverse set of donors and funders including development agencies, development banks, relief agencies, and a myriad of foundations and corporate partners. This position reports to the Indonesia Country Program Manager.
FUND DEVELOPMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform grant and award research, cultivation, positioning, and proposal writing from foundations, HNWIs, corporations, and other agencies. Identify and successfully obtain grants and or/contracts to expand Build Change’s Indonesia programs.
- Reach out to private companies, NGOs, and institutional donors, as well as secure meetings to introduce Build Change and/or follow up on current partnerships.
- Support senior leadership to represent Build Change Indonesia when developing relationships and collaborating with governments, donor representatives, private sector stakeholders, as well as development operators, including NGOs and UN agencies.
- Manage donor data management systems, including tracking partnership progress and updating of contact information and notes in Salesforce, Trello, and other CRM tools.
- Maintain consistent communications with the program regarding program development and program implementation updates.
COMMUNICATIONS RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify relevant strategic events or conferences in Indonesia and secure speaking opportunities for Build Change to promote its mission and advocacy strategies.
- Develop partnerships with relevant groups, associations, societies, and networks within the sectors of development, DRR, housing, construction, philanthropies, and/or corporate donors, as well as other sectors that could intersect with Build Change’s mission.
- Support communications materials conception, development, and dissemination aimed at spreading Build Change’s Indonesia mission as well as increasing brand recognition and followers through social networks and social media posts.
- Lead the planning and execution of events, focus group meetings, or training sessions where Build Change is responsible to organize the forum/session.
Other Responsibilities
Opportunity-dependent:
- Travel, when necessary to support Build Change’s programs development and advocacy in Indonesia.
- Perform additional duties as required by the supervisor.
OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE
You have:
- Superior, professional and versatile writing, researching, presentation, and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
- Excellent networking skills and interpersonal communications.
- An innovative approach to development and marketing that leads to an increase in donors, followers, and strong brand recognition.
- Language proficiency/fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and English, spoken and written.
Your experience includes:
- Minimum 5 years professional experience in proposal writing and fundraising for non-profit social enterprise or similar private sector business, with a proven record of winning grants and contracts, and exceeding fundraising or business development goals.
- Partnership development with different stakeholders within the international development sector, philanthropies, and/or corporate donors.
- A knack for using social media and social networks to market products and services. and develop metrics for tracking communication effectiveness.
