Beyond 12 is a national technology-based nonprofit that was launched in 2010 to dramatically increase the number of students from under-resourced communities who graduate from college and who translate their degrees into meaningful employment and choice-filled lives. In partnership with high schools and colleges, our mobile college success platform and our virtual coaches provide students with the academic, social, and emotional support they need to succeed in higher education and beyond. About the Position

Every spring/early summer, Beyond 12 meets virtually or in-person with incoming students to introduce them to coaching. These students have been identified by organizations or their Institutes of Higher Education (IHEs) as candidates to receive 2-4 years of college coaching from a Beyond 12 coach. Beyond 12 delivers presentations to students who will be starting coaching in order to:

  • Explain the benefits of coaching as students are moving through their college journey and excite students about the coaching relationship
  • Talk about the joint mission of Beyond 12 and their organization/IHE in order to ground the students in the collaborative support they can expect
  • Outline touch points students can expect and highlight additional aspects of the coaching relationship
  • Outline the onboarding process and how students can initiate connecting with a coach
  • Introduce students to the MyCoach app by having them download it and register
  • Have students complete a survey to get the most up-to-date contact information and additional information about the student that will support the college relationship

Beyond 12 seeks a dynamic and engaging Student Onboarding Coordinator who will collaborate with the Student Onboarding committee to present and lead Student Onboarding Workshops with Beyond 12’s incoming students. Below is the proposed timeline for delivering the workshops:

  • Mid-April:
    • Kickoff and training for Student Onboarding Coordinator
    • Coordination of workshops with customers
  • End-April to Mid-July: Facilitate Student Onboarding Workshops
  • Mid-July Mid-August: Workshops Completed (will depend on scheduling demand from customers)

YOUR JOB

  • Facilitate engaging and interactive virtual and in-person workshops for Beyond 12’s incoming students
  • Participate in bi-weekly meetings and maintain frequent communication via Slack with relevant stakeholders, including the Student Onboarding Committee and supervisors
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback on the delivery and execution of workshops, offering insights for continuous improvement
  • Collaborate with the Student Onboarding Committee to align workshop content with organizational objectives and customer/student needs
  • Create and distribute calendar invites for workshops, including attendees and relevant Zoom links or locations, ensuring all details are provided at least two weeks in advance
  • Adapt workshop content and delivery methods as needed to accommodate student demographics and program requirements changes
  • Maintain accurate records of workshop attendance, feedback, and other relevant data
