African Marine Conservation Organisation conducts research and conservation projects focused on aquatic megafauna such as African manatees, cetaceans, sea turtles, sharks, and rays in Central Africa. The organisation runs target species monitoring, Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated (IUU) fishing programs, and environmental education in coastal communities. It implements community livelihood initiatives like greenhouse projects to reduce pressure on marine ecosystems. AMCO also offers guided ecotourism circuits and optional activities around Lake Ossa and the Sanaga River that support conservation and local incomes.
