About the position:

Adalat AI is building cutting-edge AI solutions for courts and justice systems to end judicial delays and improve access to justice. We are developing pioneering products that assist judges, stenographers, and other legal professionals in Indian courts. This is a full-time position focused on the frontend development of Adalat AI’s speech recognition transcription product. You will be part of the team ensuring the frontend code meets industry standards and continuously improving the product.

Position overview:

• Collaborate closely with the founding team to productionize AI models that power our ASR solutions, legal copilot, and other innovative products.
• Innovate solutions addressing critical needs of our users, primarily judges and legal professionals in various Indian courts.
• Work alongside design, ML, and frontend teams to deliver comprehensive AI-driven solutions.
• Tackle complex engineering challenges on our platform.
• Build scalable and cost-effective systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Enhance, maintain, and build an application frontend using Next.js.
• Maintain high-quality standards for the work undertaken and be responsible for the qualityof deliverables.
• Contribute to product development by pitching in with ideas and conducting proof-of-concepts.
• Work in close collaboration with cross-functional partners in backend and designfunctions.

Qualifications:

• Computer Science graduate with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency with any part of our technology stack: Next.js, TypeScript, TailwindCSS,Zustand, Tip-tap.
• Experience working on large codebases.
• High standards for code quality and user experience.

What you will achieve in a year:

• Develop the frontend for court systems in India, supporting over 1000 courtrooms operating 8-10 hours daily.
• Work on building a voice-first code editor, with features like collaboration and audit logs.
• Develop a deep understanding of people in the legal system and how to build UX for them.
• Create an accessible component library and design system to serve the needs of our users.
