About Us

accesSOS is a startup tech nonprofit on a mission to save lives by making emergency help accessible for all.

The Problem: For any emergency, 911 is our go to phone call, except for the 37 million Americans who cannot hear or speak out loud for help. Unfortunately, about half of 911 call centers do not support text-to-911, and updating all systems to the next generation that accepts text messages could take 5-10 years and $15 billion. Even in areas with text-to-911, pinpointing a texter's location is slow and inefficient.

accesSOS Solution: That's where accesSOS comes in. It's a free mobile app that translates texts into 911 calls, instantly shares emergency location and streamlines information to 911. This innovative app is available in multiple languages, making it more inclusive. It not only saves precious time for 911 operators but also provides an accessible, icon-based system that has been a true lifesaver for vulnerable populations. We simultaneously use our innovation as a platform to build awareness and advocate for the national adoption of text-to-911.
